Who We Are Who We AreDemer Holleran- Owner Demer Holleran has a long history as a leader in the squash community. Fairmount Athletic Club took her six years to develop into an operating club and truly is her dream come true as she is able see members enjoy physical activity, camaraderie, and her favorite sport of squash. Demer has more open national squash titles than any US player, in women’s singles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. She won Silver medals in women’s singles at the Pan American Games in 1999 and 1995. Demer was the head coach of the University of Pennsylvania women’s squash team for nine years, leading them in 2000 to the school’s only squash national team title. She also coached the US Women’s National Team for four years during which they finished in the top-8 at the World Championships. Demer has run her own summer overnight squash camp for over 15 years, the Holleran Squash Camp. She looks forward to meeting all members and helping them to achieve their fitness and squash goals. Joe Reid- General ManagerJoe Reid is a graduate from Upper Iowa University, where he received degrees in Accounting and Management. He has been working in the fitness industry for the past 8 years, through his final 3 years with the US Army and in the public sector since. He has held every role within a fitness center and most recently was the Regional Fitness Director/General Manager for 4 facilities in South Jersey."My first priority is getting to know our members, listening to them and resolving any issues. My own personal challenge and commitment is to solve any issues within 24 hours," states Joe. "I want to build the group dynamic of our team. I want my efforts to help improve the quality-of-life for all who visit here," he continues. Joe emphasizes that he is always available to help members.Joe believes in working with his staff. He strives to lead by example, expecting the best from himself and his team. His positive determination, and eagerness to share in the everyday tasks, is reflected in the environment. Our members are sure to be motivated by this energy and enthusiasm. Nine years in the United States Army helped create the person that Joe is today. "My time in the military set the path for my style of leadership and coaching," Joe informs. He also oversaw and helped build an award-winning fitness center prior to joining Fairmount Athletic Club. "I'm using my experience to help our Center continue to set the standard in the industry," he adds.Brian Parker- Sales DirectorBrian Parker joined Fairmount Athletic Club as the Director of Sales in July 2009. He is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania holding a degree in Communications Training and Development. Brian has more than 15 years of corporate sales experience in both the fitness and telecommunications industries. He has always had a passion for fitness and athletics and in 2002 decided to combine his growing interest in this area with his sales background - he found a perfect fit. After many years with Lucent Technologies, Sprint and Avaya Communications he made the jump to the fitness sector and spent 6 years learning the industry at Future Fitness in New Jersey. Here at Fairmount Athletic Club Brian’s mission is to continue to develop and create a facility that is conducive to members achieving their personal fitness goals. Brian’s philosophy is that people were created to be active. Without regular exercise/physical activity, too sedentary a lifestyle, the body begins to malfunction. That’s why so many health problems can be traced back to poor physical fitness and nutritional habits. Sorry the “little magic pill” for better physical health doesn’t exist. The key to better health is a sensible exercise program done several days a week. Katie Raisner- Billing ManagerKatie Raisner joined the Fairmount Athletic Club team in May 2009. After graduating from Souderton AreaHigh School, Katie went on to earn her degree in Marketing from Shippensburg University with a concentration in Economics. Her business acumen includes skills in marketing, accounting, economics and banking, working at Harleysville National Bank. In her free time, Katie can be found at the gym working out or participating in various races/runs. This has led her to discover a passion for the fitness industry, knowing that was the field she wanted to be in. Katie is excited to be at Fairmount as the Assistant Director of Marketing. If you’ve been to Fairmount any time over the past few months, you’ve undoubtedly seen Katie’s smiling face at the front desk welcoming you to the gym.Brenda Elko- Group Exercise DirectorBrenda Elko worked 15 years with Central Intelligence Agency before transitioning into the fitness industry. Brenda has a Bachelor's Degree from Georgetown University & Master's Degree in Human Resources from Marquette University. Brenda has always been interested in fitness beginning as a competitive swimmer & teaching fitness over 25 years. Her certifications include AFAA, Zumba, NightClub Cardio, Body Pump, Spin, Balletone, Atletica, PowerStrike, Crossfit, TRX Suspension Training, Yogafit Level 1 & 2, Pilates Full Series 500 + hours, IM=X Pilates, in addition to developing her own fusion classes. Brenda has managed local group fitness programs in Malvern, Exton, Frazer, Downingtown as well as Milwaukee, WI.

Chang's School of Martial Arts is a community-based non-profit organization offering Martial Arts instruction in several disciplines for children, youth, and adults.

The ultimate goal of Chang's School of Martial Arts is to perfect ones character through traditional martial arts training. Heather Day Slawek is a native of Delaware County. Heather has been a certified group fitness instructor since 1989. She has taught a variety of class formats but Pole Fitness captured her heart.Pole Fitness is the art of using a polished steel or brass pole as a tool and prop in creative dance/fitness routines and freestyle dancing. For the past 12 years I have dedicated my career to Personalized Training with individuals and groups on the Main Line & King of Prussia area. I hold a BS in Exercise Physiology from Eat Stroudsburg University, and a Master Personal Training Certification from the NHE. Most of my work with clients seems to be with those who suffer from physical limitations, whether it be minor back problems to major disabilities. I also love to train with clients who are just starting their Fitness journey, those who need direction, motivation, and education. Squash

Our 50,000 square foot facility has twelve well maintained singles squash courts, and two doubles courts - in addition to an extensive gym, including cardio machines, machine and free weights, and a variety of fitness classes.

The Squash Program has a full range of training and competition for players of all levels - and boasts some of the finest coaches in Philadelphia.
